Words from REV: "I would like to thank all the fans that came out to the Black Symphony show August 26th, you guys were great... It was our first show back since we took a break and put the Black Symphony on hold almost 3 years ago, and let me tell you it felt good to be back... It was a very cool show, even though the other band that we were co-headlining with pulled out 2 days before, we decided to put on a free concert for the fans, it was like an evening with Black Symphony, it was very cool. We played several songs from the first 2 albums (the fan favorites), as well as few unheard songs from the soon to be released third album and 1 new song that will be on the fourth album which we plan on releasing shortly after the third one is released, and I think all the new songs went over as well as the old ones... Then half way through the set we had Jeff Martin from Racer X (who was also the drummer on the first B.S. album) get up on stage and sing with us, he sang a killer version of the Priest song "Victim of Changes", I don't think even Halford could have done it better. Then we called him back up at the end of the show to join us on "Smoke on the Water", Andrew Freeman sung the first verse, Jeff sung the second verse, I sung the third verse, and the crowd sung every chorus, it was great... Then we closed the show out with a couple more cover songs, first we did "Highway Star" that featured the always amazing Robert Vasicek on keyboards, then as an added treat for the M.S.G. fans that came to see Pete Holmes and Myself we did a version of the UFO classic "Lights Out" that featured the incredible guitar work of Rick Plester, and then we finished off the show with "Highway to Hell"..... All in all it was a fantastic show and a fun night, thanks to everyone that shared it with us." |

News from the studio.... Rev and drummer PETE HOLMES have just finished writing and recording a bass & drum instrumental (titled "Broken Fist") for the upcoming MICHAEL SCHENKER album "Tales of Rock-n-Roll"..... REV is also in the studio finishing up the JEFF MARTIN solo album, they are currently recording the last 2 tracks with guitarist RUSS PARRISH (Fight, Metal School) and PAUL GILBERT (Mr. big, Racer X).... Also next week REV will begin working on 2 songs from the new JACK FROST album, the songs feature PATRICK JOHANSSON (Yngwie) on drums.......... |

REV will be heading back into the studio in a couple of weeks to finish the JEFF MARTIN album, following that he will be heading to a studio in N.J. to record 3 songs on the new JACK FROST album, then shortly after that he will be heading into the studio with MICHAEL SCHENKER to record some bass parts for the upcoming album "Tales of Rock-n-Roll - 25 years of MSG".... Words from REV: "I have just returned from the studio in Lake Tahoe where I was recording with JEFF MARTIN on his new solo album. We recorded 8 songs, 5 of which he had already written and 3 that we wrote together during rehearsal. All the songs are outstanding, I think it will be a great album. I will be going back in the studio in a few weeks to record the other 3 songs and to sing back up vocals. II'll post more details about the album soon." |

Words from REV: "The MSG show and the NAMM show were great, I met lots of new & old fans, I hung out with lots of friends and made a few new ones, and I hooked up with a couple of new gear company's that I am going to start working with, I'll be posting all the new gear info very soon... I also comfirmed 2 recording projects that I will be working on in the near future, first off I will be playing on JEFF MARTIN's solo album, I am already working on a few songs that JEFF recorded demo's of and the bass lines I'm coming up with are out of this world, I can't wait to start recording, it should be a great album... I will also be playing bass on the next JACK FROST album... I will post more details when I have more details.." |
